Dreamy 2023 Nissan Z Widebody Ducktail Kit Shows Streetable Aero

We’re still a few months away from the first U.S. deliveries of the 2023 Nissan Z. And, given that customization is now in its DNA, many aftermarket developers from around the world are striving to come up with body kits for the Japanese sports car. Until now, we’ve only seen a widebody 400Zโ€”many still call it by this unofficial nameโ€” in Formula Drift, while fresh digital takes on the matter seem to pop up more often than we can keep track of. As such, we select those that stand out, with this ducktail-dominated approach easily fitting that label.

Unlike its main rival, the Mk V Toyota Supra, the new Z comes with a clean styling approach. And while that has earned it plenty of praise even before review cars recently took to the road, it’s not the aftermarket way. As such, the widebody kit sitting on our screens brings along monstrous overfenders.

The side pieces partially follow the factory design, but also add their own style. Up front, we have generously-sized gills, while the rear units end with some more or less functional air extractors.

Anybody who’s driven a “winged” car knows visibility can be an issue

And while we’re on the topic of the posterior, we’ll mention the three-pieced ducktail. The digital artist behind the AB MotorHouse label (@abmotorhouse.design) first fitted the Japanese sports car with the central unit. However, in his desire to make the ducktail wider, the pixel master also considered the real-world implications of such a design. In other words, the side add-ons are transparent to give the driver a certain degree of rear visibility.

The factory 400Z already sports a three-piece central element on the hood (this Japanese builder turning a 350Z into a 2023 Z replicated it). Nevertheless, this virtual kit dials things up to eleven, introducing a vent in the said area.

As for the wheel choice, this involves Watanabe shoes, a popular choice among Z car owners for decades. And, given that you couldn’t slike a piece of paper between the tires and the fenders, we assume the stance of the machine is augmented via air suspension.

With the kit being portrayed in both black and white, you can easily pick your poison in the image gallery below.

Now, back to the real world: despite the 2023 Nissan S seriously undercutting the Mk V Supra in terms of pricingโ€”hey, you can use the spare cash for a body kitโ€”we’re looking forward to the first battle between the stick shift versions of the two now that the Supra 3.0 received an optional manual for 2023.
