Stradman Angry About Broken Twin-Turbo Gallardo That Took 3 Years to Build

On July 2nd, 2023, The Stradman uploaded an unusual video called “The Dumpster Fire that is my Twin Turbo Lamborghini Gallardo.” In it, the usually upbeat YouTuber is clearly depressed and angry that the custom V10 supercar is broken, blaming the Chicago builder.

In short, B-Rogue Built, a company specializing in twin-turbo Lamborghinis and custom exhausts, received the Gallardo back in 2019. After 3 years of waiting, Stradman took delivery on January 5th, 2023, but the car arrived already broken according to him.

He shares a clip o him taking delivery of the twin-turbo Gallardo in January, and it was leaking oil even while on the delivery truck. The Lambo immediately goes into limp mode, stalls several times, and shows a coolant light warning on the dashboard.

There are multiple issues with the Lamborghini V10, which is leaking oil from its turbos onto the exhaust. It’s also making blue smoke, and that suggests it’s burning oil. And the fact that it’s making only 5psi of oil pressure could be related to the stalling.

The problems aren’t limited to the engine, though. Stradman’s Gallardo also has a broken handbrake and rear hatch release. These things completely ruin the experience of having a twin-turbo Lamborghini V10 which arguably is one of his most famous and favorite cars, which is part of his social media profile photos.

Stradman vs. B-Rogue: who’s suing who?

The twin-turbo Gallardo took 1,287 days to complete and cost $52,576 according to him. And while Stradman starts the video by saying “If B-Rogue Built wants to sue me for filming this video, go ahead, bring it on.” However, most people think he should be the one suing.

The car community has been incredibly supportive. Tavarish took time away from his flooded McLaren P1 and said “Let’s get this thing rebuilt, man. I’m down to help any way you need.” Mat Armstrong, who’s got experience with leaky Lamborghini engines, said pretty much the same thing. Meanwhile, Daily Driven Exotics made a long post essentially sharing similar experiences while offering to “have Mike Essa our full time tech fix your car” for free.

The Hamilton Collection said B-Rogue “also tried to blame us for breaking the engine when at the wrap shop. Complete lack of accountability. Bโ€ฆROKE.” If you guys didn’t know, Hamilton did a dog-themed wrap of the car as a joke in response to the pink and chrome Bugatti Chiron. Of course, they couldn’t have broken a car that was broken upon delivery.

Underground Racing expressed compassion for the issue but said they are no longer doing twin-turbo Gallardos. In case you don’t know, UR is the most famous shop for twin-turbo V10 builds, and they’re responsible for most of those 1,500-2,000 hp monsters you saw setting world speed records a decade ago.

The car community has responded quite aggressively to this story, bombarding B-Rogue Built’s Google page with hundreds of 1-star reviews. They have issued an official statement on the matter, saying Stradman’s video makes “several serious and disparaging remarks” regarding them and that a legal counsel is currently reviewing it. So there’s a high chance they will sue Stradman, just like he predicted.

After Stradman was delivered a broken car, B-Rogue was offered three choices to resolve this issue. They could buy the car outright from him at “fair market value”, refund all of the $52,000 that he’d spent or have it fixed at a third-party shop. It was a lose-lose-lose situation for them, but having this video come out is even worse because it has the potential to put the company out of business.

In the interest of fairness, we’ll mention the build that occurred during the pandemic had some well-documented issues. In May 2022, B-Rogue showed Stradman’s engine completely disassembled with a rocker that split in two while during dyno testing. The oil pump was also broken, most likely due to shrapnel. It wasn’t the first time the engine had broken, and a few months after this, the twin-turbo Gallardo was drag-racing a Bugatti, so it did work temporarily.
