Does the 2022 Hummer “Warthog” Look Like the Halo Equivalent?

The car community normally associates the “Warthog” name with the Ford Bronco due to the trademarks and rumors surrounding this now legendary SUV. However, a Generation of Americans grew up shooting Covenant critters in Halo, and there’s no way they’re going to miss the connection between that Warthog and this Hummer.

It’s not just any Hummer, but the all-new 2022 Hummer EV, a pickup that’s likely to completely revolutionize the world of blowing $100,000 on a pointlessly large vehicle. Not only does this revive an iconic nameplate, but it will also bring juicy trail-rated tech to the EV market.

Even before a single one has been delivered, the Hummer EV is already famous. It’s like Elon Musk decided to make a vehicle for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. And what better setting for that than a sci-fi movie universe set about 400 years in the future.

So while most other 2022 Hummer renderings prepared it for the streets, with donk wheels and such, this rendering brings an army look. Thus, the Hummer “Warthog” by Timothy Adry Emmanuel is born. It’s so similar to Master Chief’s truck that it makes you wonder if GM didn’t hire some gaming execs during the development.

The widebody fenders and practical pickup truck bed lend themselves well to this army green paint, while an extra dose of off-roading capabilities is probably a good preview of what’s to come at SEMA shows in the future.

And what about those wheels! A lot of suspension travel has been added in order to accommodate rubbers that dwarf the already large stock setup. For the record, the standard Hummer EV’s 18-inch alloys come with 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires but you will be able to install 37-inch ones without a lift. And don’t forget that this is one of the rare trail-rated machines that will come with rear-wheel steering, the so-called Crab Mode.

If they can make different types of batteries, which don’t like to blow up so much, maybe EVs really will be used by humans to explore and conquer the galaxy. Maybe that’s what villainous Elon Musk is preparing, the conquest of deep space. You have to wonder!
