Electric cars have proven capable in almost every environment, including the race track. The very first videos ever released of the Tesla Cybertruck showed it drag racing things like the Porsche 911 or the Lamborghini Urus. So who’s to say people wouldn’t want a Cybertruck track car?
3D rendering artist Vishnu Suresh is one of the most popular on Instagram right now under his alias Zephyr Designz. And this one has to be the craziest rendering he’s ever attempted. Not because it’s a Cybertruck; people have been rendering that before they even knew what a Cybertruck looks like.
No, this is a Cyberbeast in the truest sense, a widebody monster that avenges Porsche by having a flat-6 twin-turbo engine at the back. You heard that right!
First, we need to appreciate the widebody kit created specifically for the Cybertruck, which turns it into a Cybercar of sorts. The vehicle is much lower, presumably on air suspension. The massive fender flares have the same angular design as the stainless steel wedge.
The famous tonneau cover is almost invisible thanks to a massive trunk wing, which wouldn’t look out of place on a million-dollar Lamborghini exotic.
Of course, certain other liberties were taken with the design of the vehicle. It has tuning-style wheels. The lights are modified and an aero package has also been installed. But the engine swap is the most interesting aspect of the whole digital build.
The twin-turbo flat-six engine hasn’t been detailed, but it has to come from some kind of Porsche 911 model. Several elements on the Cybertruck indicate its presence, such as the air intakes in the rear fenders, the double exhaust pipes, and… the turbos sticking out the back of the car.
And before you say “That’s just stupid, an ICE Cybertruck would just be slower” consider all the technical elements. The battery pack weight is approximately 1,590 lb (720 kg). Now, some of that weight would have to be put back as reinforcement because the pack is a structural part of the car.
So would somebody ever attempt such a build? Hopefully, they will be inspired by this rendering. A while back, Rich Rebuilds put an LS V8 in the Model S. So maybe a few years from now, some YouTuber will find a salvaged Cybertruck and decide to avenge Porsche for that drag race.
