When most people imagine their first drifting lesson, they picture an overly generous space, potentialy with generous runoff areas for the inevitable mistakes. However, it doesn’t always has to be so. For one, actress Inanna Sarkis and Hoonigan recently proved that the latter’sโฆ ahemโฆ somewhat restrained Burn Yard is enough for giving somebody the donut initiation.
The whole story kicked off during last month’s FuelFest, when Inanna tagged the Hoonigan crew on Instagram, reportedly after her daughter, which is almost two, kept taking photos of their cars. After all, she does have a 14.7M-strong following on the social network. Speaking of whichโฆ
Inanna, a Syrian-Bulgarian-Canadian, first stepped out into the lightโover six years agoโas an YouTube star (her channel had 3.7M subscribers at the time of press). The Hamilton, Ontario-born performer started getting cast in movies and TV Series, while having also released two singles back in 2018 and 2019.
Now, the said automotive event took place at the Irwindale Speedway, which also happens to host Hoonigan’s Burn Yard since 2019. The Ken Block (Hoonigan-in-Chied) and Brian Scotto (Chief Creative Officer)-led crew moved there after their original tire-shredding location got them in trouble with the authorities in Long Beach. But we’ll tip our helmets to the guys’ smoking efforts, which brought spectacular content between 2015 and 2018.
So, all Inanna had to do was to return to the spot, which she recently did. And since the guys had just completed a new stage for their junkyard-rescued, LS-swapped E36 BMW M3, they decided to use the Bimmer to teach her a few sideways stunts.
Now, being able to drive stick and getting the feel of a RWD car while sliding are entirely different things. But what the actress lacked in previous practice she made up in determination. So, the rev limiter was her friend, even though she wasn’t exactly friendly to the rear tires.
This LS-animated E36 M3 is quite the training car
While we’re talking about the car, we got a taste of what this revamped E36 M3 can do in February last year, when it raced a 6.4L HEMI-swapped Jeep Wrangler in Hoonigan’s infamous This vs That seriesโyou’ll find this 2021 adventure at the bottom of the story.
Back then, the setup replacing the car’s long-lost straight-six (here’s why the North American spec of the E36 M3 sparks controversy) was an LS1 with LS3 heads supplied by Edelbrock. Now, that Camaro-pulled motor made 420 hp post-mods.
However, in this fresh video, the V8 is described as a Corvette LS3. Regardless, with the air filter now residing in front of the passenger seat, the in-cabin experience is on another level.
As Ron points out once Inanna steps out of the vehicle, a proper learning experience would probably have to see the cameras being left out of the equation.
And while we’re talking serious slip angles, there’s some sweet three-car tandem action making full use of the Burn Yard in the final part of the video. What cars? Well, there’s another E36, along with Hert’s “Simple” Honda K24-swapped Nissan 240SX.
