Most Powerful 992 Porsche 911 Is a Turbo S With Double the Factory Output

Now that Porsche is just months away from introducing the 992.2 mid-cycle facelift of the current 911 generation, we want to show you the most powerful 992, a 911 Turbo S built by ESMotor. And it’s probably safe to call this a hypercar killer, at least judging by its monstrous output.

ESMotor’s 992 Turbo was dynoed at 1,233 hp and 1,001 lb-ft of torque at the wheels back in June. According to the tuner, that made it the world’s most powerful 992 at the time—they used the term highest horsepower—and we weren’t able to find a more powerful car online now that six months have passed.

For the record, this 992 Turbo makes over 1,350 hp at the crankshaft, which is more than double the factory output (640 hp). Oh, and to build on the hypercar killer point in the intro, here’s a stock 911 Turbo S catching a Bugatti Chiron with the guard down in a drag race.

The Turkish-based tuner is famous for its 911 builds (among others), which target the 992 911 Turbo, and the other water-cooled iterations, the 991, 997, and 996. We’ve seen ESMotor 911s breaking 1/4- and 1/2-mile records at drag strips in the Middle East, as well as in the UK. And, knowing that the most potent of these ex-gen Porsches have been modded past 2,000 hp, where does this place the 992? We’re glad you asked!

The 992 Porsche 911 (Turbo) should cross the 1,500 hp border in 2024

Since the 992 911 Turbo uses the same 3.8L displacement as the 991.2 it succeeds, you may think their engines are nearly identical, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. While the 991.2 Turbo uses a 9A1 flat-six, the 992 Turbo sports a remastered version of the 992 Carrera’s 9A2 EVO engine, which went from 3.0 to the said 3.8L and received two new larger turbos that retain the carmaker’s Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) tech.

So, for this built-engine 992 Turbo, ESMotor had to start from the ground up. And, for their most aggressive package to date, the ES1200 delivering the numbers above, there’s ESMotor’s 4.1L engine block, custom VTG turbochargers built by Germany’s TTH Turbolader (aka turbo_technik_hamburg on Instagram). During the impressive dyno run, the engine used 95-octane pump gas with an octane booster from Torko, as well as methanol injection, with a custom tune on the factory ECU.

As for the PDK dual-clutch gearbox, this uses upgraded clutches from Dodson Motorsport and, again, a custom calibration on the factory TCU (transmission control unit).

And, for next year, ESMotor plans to squeeze even more power, with our estimate sitting at over 1,500 hp.

[In] 2024 get ready for the 992 platform to drop some serious numbers,” the company said in a recent Instagram post.

Until then, you can check out the 1,233 hp dyno run of ESMotor’s 992 911 Turbo in the Instagram video below (second slide). Keep in mind that the car was running in RWD mode, which, for the 992 and 991 Turbo, can be enabled with a diagnostic tool.

Of course, other recent platforms are also aiming for the sky in 2024, with the most powerful A90 Toyota Supras (B58, baby!) being an example as good as any.
