2025 Renault Duster Oroch Revealed as the Next Compact Pickup for Latin America

Renault’s budget brand Dacia just revealed their most important car yet, an all-new generation of one of the most popular crossovers in the world. The 2024 Dacia Duster looks set to continue its domination of the European market, but it’s important for other regions and countries as well. Particularly, in Latin America, Renault makes a pickup version called the Duster Oroch.

The Oroch was introduced back in September 2015 as a more affordable pickup alternative for emerging markets. It’s based on the Duster 2 generation but is 155 millimeters (6.1 in) bigger than that SUV.

Engineers have begun the development of the new Duster Oroch, which is taking place simultaneously in France and Argentina. Thanks to Kolesa, we can give you an early look at the Oroch 2 before its official debut.

As you can see, this is badged as a Renault pickup, not a Dacia. That’s because, in places like India, Russia, or Brazil, Renault sells this SUV under its own brand. But the 2025 Duster Oroch is undoubtedly a good-looking and modern vehicle, even with its badges swapped.

The new Oroch pickup has a stylish 4-door body. It also has a car-like appearance, much like the Hyundai Santa Cruz. This is because of its unibody construction, different from most pickups sold today. Thus, the roof slopes down and is connected directly to the bed. Renault also hid the rear door handles in the black window frames.

Like the Renault R5 EV, the 2025 Oroch has “RENAULT” spelled out instead of a badge. And with sharp LED lights and chunky body cladding, it looks a lot like the Hummer pickup. The rear is equally interesting thanks to sharp LED taillights, and a modern interior can also be expected from this small Renault truck.

The Duster Oroch will sit between the half-ton and one-ton pickup segments. It’s ideal as both a work vehicle and a passenger car.

The all-new Dacia Duster was revealed in November 2023 and is about to go on sale. Unlike its predecessors, it’s now based on a modern platform, the CMF-B. This will bring many benefits to the Oroch pickup version of the truck, including better engines, and potentially even a hybrid setup.

the 2024 Duster SUV is offered with a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder and several versions of the 1.2 turbo, as well as the Hybrid 140, which uses Renault’s 1.6-liter and electric motor combo. It might be offered on the Oroch, considering they showed the Niagara hybrid concept last year, which was also a sporty pickup.

The Duster pickup might be offered in Europe as well, since the demand for utility vehicles is rising. However, the main market will continue to be South America, where the pickup will need its 1.6-liter base engine to be ethanol-compatible. The other engine option will be the 1.2-liter turbo.
