2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Revealed in Accurate Rendering, Interior Shows New Digital Cockpit

The 2024 VW Tiguan is months away from being revealed, first for the European market and then North America. Ahead of that, Volkswagen has fully shown the interior of this model, its most important crossover. While the exterior design remains hidden for now, accurate renderings of the 2024 Tiguan have been created based on the camouflaged official prototypes.

Volkswagen has about a dozen crossovers currently in production all over the world. However, the Tiguan is still the most important, competing with some of the most popular vehicles in the world, the Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson, and Honda CR-V.

Unlike the Golf or Passat, which generally evolve from one generation to the next, the new Tiguan has undergone drastic cosmetic changes. The 2024 Tiguan will be the third generation of the model, its predecessor having been on sale in America since 2016. Also, the Mk1 Tiguan (5N) generation lived until 2018 as the Tiguan Limited.

Thanks to the renderings created by our friends at Kolesa, the design of the all-new 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is no longer a mystery. They have extracted all the major changes from VW’s camouflaged prototype to create accurate depictions of the vehicle.

It’s important to note that this is the European model, which has a short wheelbase and is sportier-looking thanks to brief overhangs. But the North American model, which will probably debut during the 2025 model year, will have a very similar design.

The general proportions are similar because the Tiguan 3 uses an evolution of the MQB platform. At the front, it’s quite distinctive thanks to the new matrix IQ.LIGHT HD headlights, which have a very similar design to the Golf 8. The profile is very car-like with cladding that’s barely noticeable, and arches that are round, not square like Toyotas. And at the back, the 2024 Tiguan sports a black wrap-around taillight unit. No tailpipes are shown, not even fake ones.

New 2024 Tiguan interior

The interior of the new Tiguan has been fully revealed in official Volkswagen photos. As you can see, the changes they are making are quite drastic.

There’s a new infotainment system, a 15-inch tablet sitting on top of the multi-level dashboard. The placement of the digital dash is similar to that of the Golf 8, and the shifter has been replaced. Volkswagen is famous for a very particular DSG shifter design with a metal top, but the 2024 Tiguan has the shifter mounted to the column, like a Mercedes or Tesla.

Some customers may not like that, but most will appreciate the new steering wheel which has traditional buttons instead of the criticized touch-sensitive haptic controls. A new button called the Driving Experience Control has been added, a glass-like dial similar to BMW, which sits on the center console and dictates drive modes or the radio volume. It even has a built-in display like the ones on Mercedes steering wheels.
