E46 BMW 330Ci With Pandem Widebody Is a Nurburgring Racer With M3 CSL Look

We feel like the European modern classics are being ignored a little bit right now. Prices of old Nissan and Mazda sports cars are through the roof, but if you’re looking for a 20-year-old sports car, you should consider the E46 BMW 3 Series, one of the greatest combo of chassis and engine Germany produced. And while you’re at it, you can get some of that JDM flavor with a Pandem body kit designed specifically for the E46 coupe.

The BMW 3 Series has been in production since 1975, and every generation has something special. The E30 marked the M3, the E36 took it to the next level with its straight-six engines and the E46 made huge technological advancements, not to mention it was gorgeous.

Obviously, the E46 BMW M3 is one of the most iconic M cars of all time, with its S54 straight-six. It’s the one many grew up idolizing, but it’s super expensive and not the kind of classic you want to beat on at the track.

The next best thing has to be this, the 330Ci, built from 2000 to 2006 with a facelift right in the middle. It was the most advanced 3 Series other than the M3, and unlike a modern M340i, this didn’t feature turbochargers or an AWD system. Instead, it was focused on a pure engine and a great, lightweight chassis.

In America, the M54B30TU in the 330Ci made 225 horsepower and 214 pound-feet (290 Nm), though here we are talking about a Euro model that’s rated slightly higher: 231 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft). That’s obviously way lower than an M3, even though their displacements were pretty similar, but you shouldn’t really complain about 0 to 62 mph in about 6.5 seconds back in the early 2000s.

Benson Wieser was one of the coolest 330Ci examples on the internet, and his 70k Instagram followers are down to him having a cool build, featuring the first Pandem widebody kit installed on this particular model of 3 Series. Of course, the shots of him tackling the famous Nurburgring track can’t hurt either.

The Pandem Rocket Bunny widebody kit was launched quite a few years ago. It consists of the familiar bolt-on fender flares, a new front lip, a rear ducktail spoiler, and the skirts. All this can be ordered right now for $3100. But this particular build features a few unique upgrades. For example, it’s got a carbon fiber adjustable wing instead of the ducktail, matching the carbon fiber of the roof.

Basically, this is meant to look like a CSL conversion M3, because only that car had the carbon roof. We also noticed the M3-specific vents in the front fenders, the M3 bumper, and a new quad-tip exhaust system that’s been recently fitted. Some deep Work wheels give it that classic BBC racer look, and the rear quarter windows have vents, so they’re probably polycarbonate. Overall, a very clean 330Ci that probably cost a lot of money to put together but is being driven on the track.
