We are just months away from the introduction of an all-new Fiat Panda. The range of this fourth-generation model will include a Panda EV, representing Fiat’s bid to satisfy the demand for affordable electric cars.
Fiat already sells the 500e small hatchback and 600e small SUV. However, with their retro-themed styling, those offerings start at around €30,000.
The New Fiat Panda EV, though, will have a starting price of between €20,000 and €25,000—proof for the affordability of the Italian subcompact comes from its Citroen sibling, the E-C3, which uses the same Smart Car platform and kicks off at around €23,000.
These prices are part of an European strategy that sees legacy carmakers responding to the onslaught of budget-friendly Chinese EVs, with another competitor for the New Panda EV being the upcoming Hyundai Casper.

Meaner front end styling
The current, third-generation Panda (ICE-only) has been in production since 2011 and has become the brand’s best-selling model. It will also be updated this year to be sold as a budget alternative to the fourth-gen Panda.
However, as these patent images of the New Panda show, the third- and fourth-gen vehicles will be easy to differentiate. For starters, the new model shows a more aggressive design, which may be surprising for the vehicle’s name. The images confirm that the production New Panda (EV included) follows the design introduced by the Centoventi concept of 2019.

Fiat Panda EV specs
Based on the specs of the E-C3, the New Fiat Panda EV will offer a 44 kWh LFP battery (net) offering a WLTP range of 300 km. With an 83 kW (113 PS) electric motor powering the front axle, 0 to 100 km/h should take 11 seconds, while top speed is limited to 135 km/h to keep that range in check.
In terms of charging, the New Panda EV should be able to take up to 100 kW DC with a fast charge (10-80%) time of around 30 minutes.
The New Fiat Panda, EV included, will be buit at FIAT’s Kragujevac plant in Serbia, even though the automaker has yet to confirm the information. It’s worth noting that the upgraded third-gen Panda will remain a produc of the Pomigliano factory in Italy.
Unlike the 500e, the New Panda EV won’t be offered in the US. However, while the availabily of the electric versions is yet to be confirmed, the ICE iteration of the newcomer will also be sold in markets like Latin America and North Africa. For Europe, the cheapest New Panda will start at about €14,000, while the range will include both combustion-only and hybrid versions.
Fiat is expected to launch the new Panda (EV) on July 11, which marks the company’s 125th anniversary.
